It’s Apple Season in North Georgia

Every fall, locals and visitors in North Georgia gather to take part in one of the most popular traditions of the season – apple picking in the beautiful Georgia mountains. While we all love apples, nothing beats taking a bite out of a fresh off the tree apple from your favorite mountain town!

North Georgia Apple Orchards

  • B.J. Reece OrchardsThis family-owned and operated orchard has been in business since the early 1960s. The u-pick apple orchard is open late August to the end of October and offers 20 different varieties of apples on 120 acres, including honey crisp and red delicious.
  • Jaemor FarmsThis 350-acre farm has been in the Jaemor family since 1912. It is one of the largest orchards in the U.S., specializing in a variety of homegrown produce and homemade treats, including apples, fried pies, and more. The u-pick apple orchards are open on select days, so contact them for details.
  • Hillcrest Orchards and FarmsFamily-owned and operated, Hillcrest Orchards has been open for business since 1946. Fun for the whole family with u-pick apples, pig racing with swimming pigs, cow milking, mini golf, museums, and more! Have lunch at the onsite grill and enjoy their famous apple fritters.
  • R & A OrchardsSince 1947, the R&A family business has been growing. R & A Orchards has 60 acres of apple trees along with 10 acres of peaches and nectarines. Visit the R&A Market for lunch and enjoy farm tours, wagon rides, u-pick flowers, and apple picking.
  • Red Apple BarnEnjoy a tractor ride to the orchard for u-pick apples and don’t forget to try their apple cider and famous apple cider doughnuts. Great picnic areas and a playground for the kids to enjoy. Fully stocked store offering apple pies, fritters, bread, caramel and candied apples, jams and jellies, and honey. Pumpkin patch opens in October.
