It is almost summertime in the North Georgia mountains! Summer fun may look a little bit different this year due to everything we have all been through with the COVID-19 pandemic, but with a few social distancing rules; there is definitely still plenty of fun in the sun activities in North Georgia!

Consolidated Gold Mines – Dahlonega, GA – Since North Georgia was the site of the first major gold rush in the U.S. in Dahlonega in 1828, it is fun to visit a local mine and try your luck at striking it rich. The largest hard rock gold mine east of the Mississippi, Consolidated Gold Mines offers guided underground tours and gold and gemstone panning.
Visit a Winery – North Georgia is home to over 30 local wineries, all with their own special vintages. Plan a visit to the one of the local wineries on your own or book a tour to visit several wineries in one day! Plenty of open spaces at our local wineries to relax and social distance.
Horseback Riding in the GA Mountains – Take in the beautiful North Georgia scenery as you explore the wilderness while riding a horse. North Georgia offers a variety of horseback tour companies that offers trail rides for beginners to experts.
Ziplining – Looking for an adventure in North Georgia? Try a zipline tour of the North Georgia forests at Unicoi State Park with their Unicoi Zipline and Aerial Adventure Park. River Tubing – Appalachian Outfitters in Dahlonega offers a fun and exciting way to get cooled off on a hot summer day! Take a refreshing float in a tube down the Chestatee River! Canoes and kayaks also available!
Scenic Railroad Tour – All aboard the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway in Blue Ridge, GA! Take a 4-hour tour from Blue Ridge and travel along the Toccoa River to McCaysville, GA. Explore the local shop, or grab a bite to eat before heading back to Blue Ridge.
