One third of those who chose the FSBO route said the process was indeed much more difficult than they expected. Here’s what those homeowners had to say:
- 43% said homebuyers did not trust them because they didn’t have a professional REALTOR®
- 40% had problems understanding their contract
- 36% made legal mistakes due to their lack of real estate knowledge
- 53% said the average sell time was 2 months longer without a REALTOR®
- 52% indicated that they felt completely overwhelmed and stressed out by the home selling process
And finally, those who used a real estate agent earned an average of $46k more for the sale of their property.
