Join the fun for a morning run (or walk) through beautiful Camp Glisson and work up your appetite for the big meal of the day! Proceeds of this race will benefit Lumpkin Family Connection. All participants will receive a t-shirt as well as a buff.
  • Black Friday Shopping – The quaint mountain towns of North Georgia offer a variety of unique shopping opportunities for the upcoming holidays. From the North Georgia Outlet Malls in Dawsonville and the locally owned boutiques and shops in downtown Dahlonega, to the eclectic opportunities for shopping in Blue Ridge, make the most of your Black Friday Shopping experience Thanksgiving week in North Georgia. Please note that while most retailers are open, some do require masks.
  • Dawsonville Rotary Community Thanksgiving Dinner – On Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, the Rotary Club of Dawson County will host a free drive-through Thanksgiving dinner open to all in the community. While the annual dinner is typically a community gathering where citizens can sit and eat together, it will be a little different again this year due to COVID-19. Attendees will remain in their vehicles and drive through the line. They will be asked how many meals they need, and the meals will be loaded into their cars for them to take home to enjoy. All meals will be served to-go and ready-to-eat, with no further preparation or heating required. The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Park gymnasium. The menu will consist of turkey, ham, dressing, gravy, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, rolls, and dessert.
  • Take a Hike – Get out and explore the beautiful North Georgia mountains this Thanksgiving. The beginning of the Appalachian Trail begins right here in North Georgia, which is the perfect place to spend some time before or after your turkey dinner. From beginner trails to advanced pathways, everyone can get out and enjoy this popular attraction during the most beautiful time of year in North Georgia. In addition, Blue Ridge, Helen, Toccoa, Blairsville and Hiawassee all offer a variety of different ranges of trails for any age or fitness levels including those that are paved for easy stroller/wheelchair access.
